Water Supply Update for Businesses on the Sunshine Coast
The Sunshine Coast Business Recovery Centre invites businesses to join the SCRD, the Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Organization and Sunshine Coast Tourism for a virtual water update for local businesses on July 12, 2023, at 9:00am. Get updated on water supply conditions and learn where to find information throughout the summer. There will be a short presentation from the SCRD and time to ask questions.
Reed Road Forest in Elphinstone Not on the Chopping Block this Year
“As of June 2023, and for the first time in almost a decade, the Elphinstone parcel known as District Lot 1313 is NOT slated for logging in BC Timber Sales’ five year operating plan. This is good news, but we have yet to secure permanent protection for this valuable and biodiverse forest.” Donna McMahon, SCRD Director, Elphinstone
syíyaya Days Festival: June 21 – July 1, 2023
The shíshálh Nation, syíyaya Reconciliation Movement and the District of Sechelt are hosting the syíyaya Days festival from June 21-July 1st. The SCCA will be walking in the syíyaya Days Parade on Saturday, July 1. All members and supporters are invited to walk with us in the parade. Please wear your orange shirt!
World Oceans Day Festival is Online
Our 2023 Sunshine Coast World Oceans Day Festival celebrated the incredible work being done to enhance and protect marine biodiversity. On the Festival website, you can listen to recordings of all the Nemo talks and view our curated collection of marine focused Feature Films and short videos. We’ve also compiled a list of ways you can stay connected and Take Action on marine conservation.
