If you love the Sunshine Coast — its forests, watersheds, shorelines, wildlife, and wild places — this is your invitation to help protect what makes this region extraordinary.
DONATE HERE
All donations are tax-receiptable.
At a time when ecosystems face growing pressure from climate change, industrial development, and weakening environmental safeguards, the Sunshine Coast Conservation Association (SCCA) is one of the few organizations working consistently, locally, and strategically to defend nature across the Sunshine Coast.
For nearly 30 years, the SCCA has been the organization people turn to when forests, watersheds, marine ecosystems, or species at risk need informed, persistent protection. We work quietly and effectively where it matters most — bringing science, community knowledge, and respect for Indigenous rights and stewardship into decisions that shape the future of this coast.
Your year-end donation ensures this work continues.
How to Donate
Your donation supports all of the programs listed below, and more. From watershed protection and salmon recovery to forestry and land-use advocacy, marine conservation, and community education, individual donations enable us to allocate resources where and when they are most urgently needed.

A Mission Rooted in Place and Responsibility
The SCCA works across the Sunshine Coast Natural Resource District, an ecologically rich region spanning coastal temperate rainforest, freshwater systems, and marine ecosystems, within the territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, shíshálh, Tla’amin, Klahoose, and Homalco Nations.
Our mission is simple and enduring: to preserve and restore biodiversity for humanity and all life.
We advance this mission by combining science, advocacy, and community engagement to protect biodiversity, water security, and climate resilience across the Sunshine Coast.
Your support makes this work possible.
What Your Support Helps Protect
Donations to the SCCA support a suite of interconnected programs working across land, water, and community. Each program below represents tangible, ongoing work your contribution helps make possible. Some of our current initiatives include:
West Howe Sound Watershed Protection
Your gift helps protect critical aquifer recharge areas on Mount Elphinstone and advance watershed-scale planning for long-term drinking water security and ecosystem health.
Fisheries Sensitive Watersheds & Salmon Recovery
Support advances legal protections for salmon-bearing watersheds, addressing cumulative impacts from logging, roads, and development from headwaters to estuaries.
Marine and Nearshore Ecosystems – Love Our Oceans
Donations protect shorelines, eelgrass, forage fish, and marine food webs through community science, education, and stewardship.
Private Land Conservation
Your contribution supports conservation covenants that permanently protect ecologically important private lands for biodiversity and community benefit. Learn more:
Forests, Old Growth, and Climate Refugia
Donations support the protection of intact forests, old growth, and at-risk ecosystems that store carbon, regulate water, and sustain wildlife, including marbled murrelet habitat.
Education, Engagement, and Community Stewardship
Support delivers public talks, films, citizen science, and outreach that connect people to place and empower informed stewardship.
Together, these programs allow the SCCA to act early, stay engaged, and respond strategically wherever conservation needs are greatest.
Why Year-End Giving Matters
Conservation does not pause at year’s end.
Ecosystems continue to face mounting pressures from climate change, development, and regulatory rollbacks. Stable, flexible funding allows the SCCA to act early, stay engaged, and respond strategically as opportunities and threats arise.
Your year-end gift:
- Strengthens protection for forests, watersheds, and wildlife at risk.
- Supports community education and engagement across generations.
- Amplifies local voices in regional and provincial decision-making.
- Builds the organizational capacity needed for long-term, effective conservation.
Every contribution — large or small — helps preserve the places that define the Sunshine Coast for generations to come.
Thank You
The SCCA is deeply grateful to our donors, members, volunteers, partners, and collaborators. Your support allows us to do careful, credible, and persistent work — protecting biodiversity step by step, watershed by watershed, and coast by coast.
On behalf of our Board, staff, and volunteers, thank you for standing with us.
