Get Ready to Vote!
On April 28, 2025, Canadians will head to the polls to vote in the federal election. This election will be pivotal in shaping the future of our communities and deciding the fate of the natural environment.
Who Can Vote
To vote at the upcoming federal election you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Canadian citizen.
- Be at least 18 years old on or before April 28, 2025.
- Prove your identity and address.
- Be registered to vote. If you’re not registered yet, you can register online, by phone, mail, or in-person.
Ways to Vote
In-Person on Election Day: You can vote at your assigned polling station on April 28. Voting locations will be added to the Elections Canada website after April 1st.
Vote by Mail: If you want to vote by mail, you need to request a voting package by 6 p.m. Eastern Time on April 22, 2025. Your completed ballot must be received by Elections Canada in Ottawa by the deadline: April 28, 2025, at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
Advance Voting: Advance voting is available April 18 – 21, 2025. Voting locations will be added to the Elections Canada website after April 1st.
Vote at an Elections Canada Office: You can vote at any Elections Canada office from now until 6:00 p.m. on April 22, 2025. Voting at an Elections Canada Office follows the special ballot process which is different from the usual process on Election Day. You can find your nearest Elections Canada Office by using the map on the Elections Canada website.
When to Vote
- Vote at an Elections Canada office: March 23 – April 22, 2025, until 6 p.m.
- Advanced Voting: April 18 – 21, 2025
- General Voting Day: Monday, April 28, 2025
Where to Vote
The upper and lower Sunshine Coast are in the West Vancouver–Sunshine Coast–Sea to Sky Country Electoral District. Voting locations will be added to the Elections Canada website after April 1st. If you don’t live on the Sunshine Coast, you can look for your district on the Elections Canada website.
