The SCCA has just discovered that the Community Forest is hosting a presentation by Ms. Glynnis Horel, P.Eng on March 10, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Seaside Centre. The presentation will detail the findings of a comprehensive coastal watershed assessment conducted in the Chapman Creek and Gray Creek watersheds. An assessment report will be available online at the Sunshine Coast Community Forest web site after the presentation.
The SCCA was not previously advised that this assessment was underway, nor did we receive any material to review in advance of this presentation. It can only be assumed that further logging is being planned for these watersheds, an action that the SCCA is opposed to. Please attend this presentation and make your views known on logging within our main water supply areas.
