What you need to vote
Provincial ID rules are different from local election rules, so check before you go.
Option 1: Show one of these: a BC driver’s licence, a BC Services Card with photo, a BC Identification Card, another BC or Canadian government card showing your name, photo and address, or a Certificate of Indian Status.
Option 2: Show two pieces of ID that both show your name. At least one must show your current address. Electronic documents such as e-bills are accepted. Your provincial Where to Vote card counts as one of these documents.
Option 3: If you have no ID, another person can vouch for you. They must show acceptable ID, and you each make a solemn declaration confirming your identity and address.

Learn About the Candidates Before You Vote
SCCA is hosting an online environmental all-candidates meeting for the Powell River-Sunshine Coast MLA candidates on Tuesday, October 20, 7:00–8:30 p.m. via Zoom.
We asked every candidate the same five questions on watershed boards, old-growth and biodiversity law, Woodfibre LNG, community forest tenure, and the Clean Energy Act’s dam bans. Their written answers go live on October 20.
Register for the meeting and read the answers on our 2026 Provincial Election page.
Two elections, two weeks, two sets of rules. Check your dates, find your voting place, and have your ID ready.
