Hearings to be held Oil Tanker Route

Josh Paterson of West Coast Environmental Law, recently returned from a trip up the BC Coast to the beginning of the proposed Enbridge tanker route at Kitamaat Village (near Kitimat). His account of this trip is on WCEL’s website.

WCEL is working to protect the BC coast from the threat of an oil spill and urges people who care about this issue, to register to speak briefly at the public hearings. The deadline to sign up is October 6, 2011.

Enbridge public hearings will be held all around BC starting in January. This is our best chance, as British Columbians, to make sure that the federal decision-makers know we cannot accept the Enbridge pipeline and tankers. More on Tar Sands, Tankers and Pipelines, as well as many other environmental issues, is on the WCEL site.
