On Oct 31 the BC Watershed Security Coalition sent a letter calling for the creation of the Watershed Security Fund in Budget 2023 to all members of the Treasury Board and other strategic Ministers, including Premier David Eby ahead of the cabinet committee meeting discussing the Watershed Security Strategy and Fund.
On Friday, Dec 1, at a policy engagement session hosted by the Ministry of Land, Water and Resource Stewardship, Coaltion members learned that the timelines have slipped significantly for the WSSF, showing the fund being launched in the fall of next year.
The Coalition will be sending a follow-up letter to all relevant (new and returning ministers) and the Premier once the new cabinet is appointed on December 7th.
