The 9th Annual Hornby Island HerringFest is happening from March 13–15\, 2025\, and it’s an event you won’t want to miss! \nThe Sunshine Coast Conservation Association (SCCA) is pleased to share this event with our community to support the important work of Conservancy Hornby Island in raising awareness about the crucial role of Pacific herring in the Salish Sea ecosystem. \nWhy the HerringFest Matters\nThe Pacific herring is a keystone species—its spawning cycle supports a wide range of marine life\, from seabirds and whales to salmon and sea lions. Protecting herring populations means safeguarding the entire coastal food web.
